A good example of farm shop retail and composition, https://sustainablefarmingltd.com
A solar powered farm, bringing fresh free-range eggs, pork and vegetables to businesses near Lichfield and around the west midlands.
Free Range Eggs
Eggs raised super sustainably on the farm through growing their own feeds and ranging their hens in diverse fields
Herbs and Veg
Living Herbs and Vegetables grown using aquaponic farming techniques to provide organic nutrients and reduce water usage
Off Grid/zero emissions
they produce their own power for the farm utilising solar panels and a small wind turbine, they recycle cooking oil into biodiesel.
And the reason for choosing this logo, because it simply shows the meaning or direction
of the company.
Moreover, the design symbolizes a brighter and healthier lifestyle as it suggests that everything you need will be fresh or newly implanted.
a green colour usually conveys the message that the company or the product environmentally friendly.
This explains why it is so popular with organic and vegetarian brands, so the colour green here stands for continuous growth, and is known to have a soothing effect to human vision. Since it takes dominance in the natural world, green takes a lot of space in the human eye’s spectrum.
Furthermore, the designer cleverly uses a combination of the symbol of the light green leaf with the hen indicating the contents of this company simply without exaggeration,
So, it is an ideal design for any kind of farm shops, because it is visible anywhere.
Bad or unsuccessful design for Tottingworth Farm, https://www.tottingworth.co.uk/about.html
Tottingworth Farm opened a small farm shop in 2011 and it grew to be a huge success, and then decided to expand their farm shop business and in May 2016 they opened a much larger farm shop with adjoining café. Since its opening, they have grown the business considerably offering a wide range of locally sourced and home produce.
the shop offer home produced or locally sourced goods, from fresh meat, sourced and butchered on the farm, to home made soups, pies and quiches. They also sell fresh vegetables, dairy products, locally sourced jams and preserves, and Cottage Delight goods.
The reason that this design was chosen as a bad example is because of the dark grey colour dominated completely of the image, When looking at this design the first things that the audience will see are the wide dark area without any need it
The next thing will notice will be the white lines adopted as a background graphic look like random mountains and trees with a blurred drawing of a cow in the middle of the image.
So there wasn’t much of a clue to show that it was a farm shop.
To improve the previous design, can make it look more alive and obvious as to what the project is about.
Planning out my logo
here some ideas I sketched to choose the best, I decided to keep the shape of the cow, but I confused between drawing the cow figure or just her face, with a background of mountains
or draw a bag full of fresh vegetables and meat.
My finished design
Through the illustrator, I first decided to add colours to the logo, such as green gradients on the mountains background and then I designed a cute Cow’s face printed on a bag as an indication of the shop’s products.
