My Healthy plate is a delightful, clear, easy to understand visual tool, and example of good typography
The healthy plate design is well known to everyone but here I like the simplicity in conveying information to children and teenagers.
In addition to the bright colours, that might attract audience, the designer chose green for vegetables, blue for fish, and orange for healthy carbohydrate, each of these colours has a close relationship with its content.
My healthy plate was designed by the health promotion board (HPB) specifically for Singapore residents.
Starting from the portions of the macronutrients where fruit and vegetables account for half of the plate, protein and carbs for the other two quarters, which reflects the common advice of healthy eating.
The choice of each food item is well thought of, the apple being probably the commonest well-known fruit known to humans across different cultures, the choice if vegetable is rather an ambiguous one as it is not clear which type of vegetable it is, it could be lettuce, but also could pak choi, nonetheless it does serve the purpose quite well.
As for protein choice, it fits well into the Chinese staple (three quarter of people in Singapore are ethnic Chinese) source of protein with fish being quite common healthy food coming from the sea (hence blue colour is a very good choice partly due its calming effect and partly to reflect the sea as a source of healthy food), adding tofo is a good choice that is linked to oriental dietary staples.
Orange-brown colour of carbs adds depth to the baked bread image and, may be, emphasize the importance of fibres in wholemeal grains
In order to convey a wholesome message, the designer added important elements of healthy diet by ensuring that water and healthy oils are taken into consideration as well.
It is crucial not to neglect the font style choice, as it facilitates conveying the logo’s message.
In this logo sans serif font used to convey the idea in an sensible, neutral, straightforward, simple and easy to read.
and the rounded poster with all the ideas to be communicated that were collected inside and around this circle were able to make this project easier and simpler to read and understand for everyone.
I did not find much information about this company’s logo except that it is a restaurant in Mauritius that serves healthy meals and disserts.
The logo is too bland and does not entice the viewer, the choice of typography it is not very well thought out.
It is a mono colour logo, which makes it very boring, probably the do not serve a variety of items on their menu.
Using more than one colour can attract the audience and convey more in depth feel of what they serve.
For my version of the logo I want to make it look fresh and appealing.

The final result of my version of the logo
I tried to show the importance of choosing healthy food offered by the company by designing the heart-shaped plate and choosing the green colour due to its association with health and environment with steam rising as a symbol of freshly-cooked food. With a half rounded typograph, with addition of of a yellow gradient background within a rounded shape.
